Several of Falmouth’s beaches are situated within a couple of minutes walk in either direction from the Hotel. Gyllyngvase Falmouths's Blue Flag Beach, Castle & Swanpool Beaches are just a few that Falmouth has to offer and all of which are perfect for family activities. From building sandcastles to snorkelling, surfing & even "if your feeling adventurous" some coasteering are just a few of the options for a great day out. Rock pool safaris, are also a great way to enjoy Falmouth's beautiful coastline & a great activity for the whole family to experience together.
The multi award winning National Maritime Museum which also houses a huge collection of boats, re-tells stories of intrepid explorers from Captain Bligh & the Mutiny on the Bounty to Dame Ellen MacArthur and her solo trip around the globe. These exhibits will offer you a great insight into not only Falmouth's proud nautical history but that of some of the most famous seafarers that have ever taken to the great seas.
Pendennis Castle is one of the finest fortresses built by Henry VIII. Explore the restored Victorian and WWII defences complete with sounds and smells and head to the Discovery Centre where hands-on activities allows visitors of all ages to really get to grips with history

Loose yourself in the maze at Glendurgan or get Bamboozled by the bamboo at Trebah Gardens, with the stunning coastal backdrop of the Helford Passage these gardens are truly something to be amazed by year round. Both gardens are just a 15 minute drive from the Hotel. Should you prefer something slightly closer then maybe take in the Gyllyngdune Gardens located behind the hotel which boasts the original Edwardian bandstand & Greenhouse in it's grounds.
Falmouth plays host to some of Cornwall's most vibrant events ranging from - 'The International Sea Shanty Festival' to the Oyster Festival, Falmouth Week & Tall Ships which are just some of the events hosted throughout the year in the town, there really is fun for the whole family.

If you fancy something a bit more active then why not try Pitch & Putt which is a great day out for the whole family, play a small par 3 nine hole course then maybe test yourself on the crazy golf putting green. If golf isn't your thing then Slip & Slide your way up to Ships & Castles leisure pool where plenty of fun can be had no matter what age. For those who want to experience the more peaceful side of Falmouth then maybe some of our various coastal paths might be for you, stretching far and wide these paths can lead you to some hidden gems.
